The City of Providence in partnership with the RI Chapter of the American Red Cross will be offering a series of training for those interested in becoming Shelter Volunteers. In the event of a City wide disaster or crisis, Providence would need trained volunteers to operate Emergency Shelters. We need your help to insure that Providence is prepared to respond to and recover from a crisis or disaster.
Providence needs people of all skills, training and education levels during a disaster. This training is a 21 hours and includes CPR & First Aid, introduction to disaster services, mass care, shelter operations and a live simulation conducted at a Emergency Shelter location.
